Metamorphosis
Neal Fox:
“Angel”
A beautiful woman goes through her life cycle, untouched and unaffected by the world around her.
Presscott McDonald:
JR Dios Martinez is a Miami freelance creative director, artist , T.V. host, and drag queen. As a young man JR attended Parson's High School of Design NYC Fashion School and Escuela De Dlseño Las Mercedes Martiine fashion school, in Caracas Venezuela. It is required to create a collection and show it before you graduate, unable to find a suitable muse to show his line. JR became Barbarella to exhibit his fashion line but once Barbarella was born she became an expression of pure art, joy and freedom.
I found JR a.k.a. Barbarella to be a great example of how mankind can adapt and morph into whatever they need. JR presently works as creative director for a television station in South Florida and only wears the Barbarella look for special events.
Adela Holmes:
Sometimes transformation is necessary but the more necessary it is the harder it is to make that change. To come out of our own shells and morph into our true selves is one way to seek transformation, another is to rid ourselves of the darkness lurking inside and transform into a better being. Regardless which one it is, the struggle and the force behind the effort is captured in these photographs. “Can we defy the gravitational pull of materialism and materiality and rise above identification with form that keeps the ego in place and condemns us to imprisonment within our own personality?” – Eckhart Tolle from A New Earth
